Hashioki – Taiyaki

Hungry? With this taiyaki-shaped chopstick tray (hashioki), you`re sure to be soon. Taiyaki (鯛焼き) is a Japanese pastry in the shape of a fish, usually a sea bream (tai).

The taiyaki pattern on this hashioki is tactile and the ceramic is pleasantly rough.

Hashioki (箸置き) are used to place chopsticks on. This prevents the table or its surface from getting dirty. It also prevents the chopsticks from rolling off the table.

箸 = hashi = chopsticks
置き = oki = to put down
