Care instructions: rinse thoroughly in water prior to first use to remove the natural starches which give the cloth it initial stiffness.
The tea towels or wipes are made of a total of 6 layers, with the first layer made of cotton and the remaining 5 made of viscose. Each piece is carefully made in Japan, where they enjoy great popularity because viscose is 1.3 times more absorbent than cotton and also more resistant to oil stains. In addition, due to its coarse weave, Kaya cloth is highly breathable and quick-drying, so it can be used hygienically.
Since starch glue is used in the production of the cloth, it looks stiff at first, but after rinsing with lukewarm water, the glue is removed and it becomes soft and fluffy.
Kaya
This beautiful pure cotton fabric used to be used as a mosquito net, which is a specialty of Nara Prefecture. Kaya has high absorbency and durability and is easy to dry, making it the perfect base for these wipes.
