Noh Mask Ko-omote
CHF 68.00

The "Ko-omote" (literally "little face") mask was created to represent young, graceful female figures and symbolizes the young pretty woman in Noh theater.

She is often depicted as a naive innocence, conforming to the ideal of beauty in the Heian period (794-1185). The face is painted white, with shaved and painted eyebrows, neatly combed hair and black colored teeth.

The ceramic mask is hollow inside and intended as a wall decoration, not to be put on.
Each piece is hand painted and packed in a beautiful box.
