Odawara Furin – Matsu

In Japan, furin (風鈴) are more than just pretty summer decorations - their gentle tinkling is said to suggest a fresh breeze on hot days and drive away evil spirits. Traditionally, they are hung on temples and houses to ward off negative energy and generate positive vibrations by activating the universal Qi energy.

This black brass wind chime beguiles with its beautiful clear tone. The Japanese workshop has adopted the tradition of Odawara casting. Odawara City (Kanagawa Prefecture) is a casting production area with over 800 years of history. Each furin is made by hand. The pattern and arrangement, shape and colour of the individual items may vary accordingly.
