This bancha is organically grown from ripe tea leaves from the second and third harvest of the sencha. It is produced by small, family-run farms on the island of Kyushu.
The tea has a robust and slightly grassy flavour and a light yellow colour. Due to its low caffeine content, it is popular in Japan as an everyday tea that can be drunk at any time of day.

DID YOU KNOW? ...
Bancha is characterised by a high tannin content, which gives the tea a slightly acidic taste and a distinctly nutty aftertaste. These tannins also have anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects. Bancha is also good for digestion, the cardiovascular system and health in general. In this sense: cheers!
