MOYA – Genmaicha (100 g)
CHF 17.50

Genmaicha is a popular type of tea from Japan that consists of a traditional blend of green sencha and roasted brown rice grains. The mixture creates a refreshing, buttery and sweet taste, partly reminiscent of popcorn.
This Genmaicha here is grown on small organic farms on the island of Kyushu, the southernmost tea producing region in Japan.

Genmaicha tea is not only delicious but also healthy. It contains medium amounts of caffeine and helps promote the digestive system. In addition, it is rich in catechins and antioxidants, among other things.

DID YOU KNOW? ...
The history of genmaicha (玄米茶) dates back to an incident in 16th century Japan. At that time, a servant is said to have accidentally served tea containing stolen rice grains to a shogun (the highest position of the samurai). The shogun was so impressed by the taste that he decided to include it in his daily diet.
Today, Genmaicha is also known as "popcorn tea".
