Washi Papercrane
CHF 1.20

Our handmade origami cranes are made from traditional 7 x 7cm washi paper, which is made from mulberry bark and is known for strength, moisture resistance and beauty.

The cranes, also known as tsuru in Japan, have long been considered a symbol of long life. Origami cranes are given as good luck charms to wish health, happiness, well-being and prosperity.

In Japanese culture, the crane is associated with loyalty, honor and strength and has been chosen by the samurai caste. Its image adorns their weapons and shields.
A seen crane is considered a good omen in the Far East and through origami it is referred to as the "bird of peace" or "bird of good fortune".
