Postcard – Daruma
CHF 2.50

High-quality postcard with a daruma motif.

The daruma is a meaningful symbol in Japan and stands for perseverance, determination and luck. It is often sold with empty eyes so that you can set yourself a goal: You draw one eye when you wish for a goal and the second as soon as it is achieved.

The shape of the daruma, usually round and difficult to knock over, symbolizes the ability to get up again and again after setbacks, according to the Japanese proverb: “Fall down seven times, get up eight” (七転び八起き, Nanakorobi Yaoki). The Daruma is a popular gift for new beginnings, exams or projects where perseverance and success are desired.
